Intense Fog Has stopped finals at Sintra Pro
After a week of stop-start action the fog reined supreme at Praia Grande today when all finals apart from the DK were unable to be completed.
Ten minutes into the women’s final visibility was reduced to zero and it stayed that way all day forcing the organisers to split the points & prize money down the middle for Men’s & Women’s finals. This was the first time in APB history that this has happened.
Isabela Sousa (Brazil) and Joana Schenker (Portugal) will now head to the final event in Nazaré to fight it out with Ayaka Suzuki (Japan) to decide the women’s World Title.
In the Men’s final Pierre Louie Costes (France) and Iain Campbell (Sth Africa) shook hands and shared equal second in the richest QEST event on the 2018 APB World Tour.
The Pro junior final was also cancelled.
APB Operations manager Teza McKenna summed it up well. “Mother Nature showed us all who’s the boss today”, he said at the presentation.
The next event on the APB Tour will be in Viana next week featuring a Men’s 4 star QEST & the Pro Junior World Championships. stay tuned on apbtour.com
