The APB World Women’s Tour (WWT) will head towards the exotic beaches of Morocco in October this year for a girls-only competition.
After the success of the 2017 Madeira BBGE, Carina Carvalho has teamed up with Zineb from Union Marocaine de Surf et Bodyboard Féminins & Marocaine Surfing Royal Federation to recreate the same winning formula.
APB World Tour Manager Teza Mckenna explains.
“This is way more than just a contest” said Tez
“This is a unique fusion of competition, culture and tourism. We think it’s a winning formula that can be recreated worldwide to entice more female athletes to the tour, because it offers much more than just a regular event,” he added.
The actual contest will take place from 3rd to the 6th October with organized tours outside of the event showcasing the iconic landscape of Casablanca.
The event will carry a Silver Star rating with US$15,000 prizemoney.
Zineb Tebbai is the face of the event working closely with Carina Carvalho from Madeira (logistics) and both are really excited to be bring the worlds best female riders to Morocco.
“The BBGE team aims to organize from October 1st to 6th in Morocco the fourth edition of Bodyboard Girls Experience in partnership with the Union Marocaine de Surf et Bodyboard Féminins. An opportunity to promote Moroccan wonders around the world. The chosen destination is Casablanca. Recognized for the beach-breaks and point-breaks. Casablanca and its region are close to several spots such as Skhirat, Rabat, Mehdia, Dar Bouazza, El Jadida, Oualidia, Cap Bedouza and Safi. This allows all riders to discover the north coast rich in traditions and culture,” said Zineb.
ALL RIDERS intending on coming will need to begin the visa process now as some countries require up to 3 months to confirm a visa with the Moroccan government.
